This 1.5-litre collector’s edition is limited to just 404 individually numbered bottles, offering wine lovers and collectors a rare opportunity to experience one of our most structured and age-worthy wines in its most expressive format.

A Cabernet Sauvignon & Petit Verdot Blend Built to Endure


Sourced from low-yielding vineyards in Tulbagh, the Marathon 2021 is a powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, grown in decomposed shale soils under a hot, dry climate with cool evenings. This terroir lends the wine its deep concentration, robust structure, and elegant minerality.

Fermented in upright French oak barrels with gentle hand-punching, and matured with 50% natural form to retain purity of fruit, this vintage was bottle-aged for six months before release—ensuring depth, polish, and harmony.

Tasting Notes

  • Colour: Deep black-purple, almost opaque in the glass.

  • Aromatics: Intense notes of cassis, blackberries, and dried violets, laced with black pepper, allspice, cedar, and balsamic undertones.

  • Palate: Bold yet refined, with silky tannins and a layered finish of dark fruit, earth, and spice. A wine that evolves beautifully with time in the glass, or in the cellar.
