There’s a moment that happens the first time you arrive at Paserene Wine Farm. You turn into the gravel drive, Franschhoek’s mountains unfolding behind you, and catch sight of something extraordinary, a curved, timber-and-glass building perched beside a tranquil dam, its architecture echoing a swallow’s nest. This is not your average tasting room. This is a sanctuary for wine, design, and stillness.
Why Visit Paserene?
Paserene offers one of the most serene and immersive wine tasting experiences in the Cape Winelands. Set in a landscape of elemental beauty, our farm invites you to slow down, taste deeply, and connect with the artistry behind every bottle.
Our tasting lounge isn’t just a place to sip, it’s a space that reflects our philosophy: clean lines, intentional choices, and a commitment to quality without excess. Every detail is designed to elevate the experience, from the acoustics and lighting to the panoramic mountain views that pour in through the glass walls.
The Tasting Experience
Guests can choose between curated tasting flights, each offering a unique glimpse into the Paserene philosophy of winemaking:
- Elements Tasting – A fresh, expressive selection of four wines: Rosie, Emerald, Bright, and Midnight. Ideal for those new to Paserene.
- Paserene Range Tasting – Our premium tasting featuring the iconic Union, Marathon, and Chardonnay. Deep, structured, and cellar-worthy.
- Mixed Tasting – Experience a blend of both ranges, allowing you to taste the contrast and connection between styles.
Each tasting is led by knowledgeable hosts who guide you through the stories, techniques, and terroir behind the wines. For an even deeper experience, you can book a private tasting in our raised platform space, overlooking the koi pond and vineyards.
Architectural & Natural Harmony
Designed by architect Etienne Stols, the tasting lounge is both sculptural and inviting. Inspired by the swallow—Paserene’s symbol—the structure rests lightly on the land, blending wood, glass, and steel into a seamless whole. Inside, the space is open yet intimate, modern yet rooted in place.
Outside, lush gardens and tranquil water create a meditative atmosphere. Sit on the open veranda, stroll along the dam’s edge, or enjoy a tasting on the deck as the light shifts across the valley. It’s an experience where the wine is only part of the story, the setting elevates every moment.
Gourmet Pairings & Platters
Our tastings are complemented by seasonal food platters made with locally sourced ingredients:
- Artisan cheeses from Dalewood and La Petite France
- Charcuterie, including bresaola, prosciutto, and Franschhoek-style pâté
- Preserved fruits, olives, and house-made dips
- Freshly baked breads and crisp lavash
Each board is designed to enhance the wines, Emerald with soft goat cheese and citrus; Union with smoked meats and bold tapenade; Rosie with pickled trout and herbed chèvre.
